MEDELLIN, COLOMBIA TRIP - JULY 2021
At Latina Leaders, Inc., our mission reaches far beyond borders. We are committed to raising and equipping women leaders around the world—women who will transform their families, strengthen their communities, and build a legacy for future generations.
In July 2021, I had the privilege of traveling to Medellín, Colombia with my daughter to speak to an inspiring group of women about leadership, resilience, and purpose. During this mission trip, we partnered with the nonprofit organization Mujer Talento, whose mission is to restore and empower women who are overcoming incredibly difficult circumstances, including domestic violence, prostitution, drug addiction, human trafficking, and extreme poverty.
Mujer Talento provides mentorship, job training, and entrepreneurial education to help these women rebuild their lives with dignity and independence. One of their most impactful programs teaches women sewing and fashion design, equipping them with valuable skills that allow them to work in Medellín’s fashion district or launch their own small businesses.
A Mission That Changed Lives
This mission trip was a powerful and successful experience. Through the generosity of supporters, we were able to bring financial support, clothing donations, and leadership training to women who were rebuilding their lives.
During our time in Medellín, we witnessed firsthand how encouragement, mentorship, and faith-filled leadership can transform lives. Many of the women shared that the message of hope and leadership renewed their confidence and helped them see a future beyond their past struggles.
The impact of this trip went far beyond a single event—it strengthened partnerships, restored hope, and helped women believe in their potential to become strong leaders in their own communities.
The Impact of Your Support
Because of the generosity of donors and supporters, resources were provided to help Mujer Talento continue serving women who are striving for a new beginning. Donations helped provide essential supplies, support workforce training programs, and contribute to the reopening of a safe space where women can gather, learn valuable skills, and receive mentorship.
These programs continue to empower women with the tools they need to rebuild their lives, gain employment, and pursue entrepreneurship.
